TaeKwonDo Rules
- Bow to all the Black Belts, be respectful, addressing them as Mr./Ms. _________. Answer with "Yes Sir/Ma'am" or
"No Sir/Ma'am". You must stand at attention or relaxed attention when addressing a Black Belt. You will hand and
receive objects to and from a Black Belt with both hands, standing at attention, saying "Thank you Sir/Ma'am".
- Bow to the flags before entering and leaving the dojang.
- Respect your parents, teachers and elders.
- Black Belts must respect their senior belts.
- Discipline, respect and self-control must be observed at all times.
- As a martial artist, you are not allowed to abuse your body with drugs, alcohol or smoking. Your body must
remain clean and pure.
- Good hygiene is essential. You must have deodorant on and smell good. Feet must be washed before class. Bad
body odor will not be tolerated.
- Uniforms must be clean and tidy. Used and sweaty uniforms may not be left in the lockers or at the school.
Unclaimed or dirty uniforms found in the school will be thrown away.
- You are responsible for your personal belongings. Anything left at the school without permission will be thrown
away.
- You are responsible for the cleanliness of the school, so clean and organize after yourself.
- No jewelry and no make up in class.
- Long hair must be put up or kept together.
- Fingernails and toenails must be cut short.
- Ladies must wear a plain white/black sport bra, tank top or otherwise under their uniform.
- You are responsible for your attendance card and your belt. Do not leave them at home or in the school.
- If you are late for class you will not be permitted to join.
- If you miss class, call and give a reason.
- You are not allowed to leave the class at any time without permission.
- No sparing without proper equipment and the instructor's permission.
- Do not play with weapons in the school.
- No running, noise, jokes, eating, etc. in the dojang.
- No talking, chewing gum, or misbehaving during class.
- No foul language in or out of the school. Profanity will not be tolerated!
- Never abuse your martial arts in any way. Remember that martial arts are for self-defense only.
- Be loyal and honest to your country, school, family and yourself.
- Treat everyone in the school as brothers and sisters.
- Never make an unjust kill.
- Never give up on anything. Always try to improve yourself.
- Be honest in conducting business and daily affairs. Never take advantage of anyone. Never put down anyone.
- Do not associate yourself with anyone of bad influence, a dishonest nature or undisciplined attitude. Pick your
friends and acquaintances carefully.
- Students attending school must bring in a copy of their report cards on a regular basis and must constantly try
to improve their grades.
- Focus on whatever you do and accomplish it.
